Celebrity R.E.: Khloe Kardashian Buys Justin Bieber's Calabasas Home

I am a little late on this so sorry for all the redundancy if already knew about it but back on March 6, 2014, US Weekly magazine reported that Khloe Kardashian had purchased Justin Bieber's home spending a reported $7.2 million for the luxury home in the highly sought after gated community in the The Estates at the Oaks. 

For the short time that I have been blogging about celeb R.E.:, there probably hasnt been a home more blogged about this one as prior to Justin Bieber, it was owned by a non-celebrity who purchased it from Nicole Murphy, Eddie Murphy's ex. 

This home sale isnt finalized so curious to see if the $7.2 million was the agreed purchase price which would mean that Bieber profited $700,000 from the $6.5 million he paid on April 6, 2012 which is not bad for close to two years living. The home measures 6 Beds/7 Baths on 9,214 sqft on a total lot size of 1.29 acres built in 2005. You can read more details about Bieber's purchase including listing pictures here. 

Prior to Bieber purchasing the home, Nicole Murphy sold at a massive loss of $1,985,000 to a non-celebrity for $5,515,000 on May 29, 2011 which she had paid $7.5 million on May 10, 2006. You can read more details about Murphy's listing here. 

And on a related note, Khloe Kardashian recently sold her Tarzana home co-owned by Lamar Odom who are now divorcing to Big Bang Theory star, Kaley Cuoco, for $5.49 million translating into a gain of $1.549 million. You can read more details and listing pictures here. 

And on another related note, Khloe will be living next to her sister, Kourtney, who just acquired Keyshawn Johnson's mansion somewhere in the price range of $8 million and also listed for sale their previous Calabasas home for $3.499 million which is still available. Celeb R.E.: Big Bang Theory Star Kaley Cuoco Purchases Kardashian/Odom Tarzana Mansion

The latest celebrity real estate rumor comes from TMZ on January 25, 2014 who revealed that Big Bang Theory star, Kaley Cuoco and her husband Ryan Sweeting have purchased the Tarzana home formerly owned by Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom who are in the middle of a divorce for $5.49 million. Kardashian/Odom first acquired this property for $3,950,000 on December 18, 2009 which if sold at today's asking price would translate into a profit of $1,549,000 before any expenses which is a pretty good return after close to 4 years of living in the home. Its been speculated that Kardashian has already moved back to the mother's nest in Hidden Hills while Odom might be in Florida where he owns another home.

Going back to Cuoco who is no stranger to the SFV as she currently owns a Sherman Oaks home (shown above) that was purchased on November 19, 2010 for $2.4 million and featured 5 Beds/5 Baths on 5,233 sqft on a total lot size of 10,750 sqft built in 2004. Does this mean Kaley will be selling this home in the near future after moving to Tarzana?

Prior to the Sherman Oaks home mentioned above, Cuoco owned another Sherman Oaks home (shown above) that measured 3 Bed/2.5 Bath on 2,171 sqft on a total lot size of 10,510 sqft built in 1937. This home was purchased for $1,355,000 on October 7, 2005 and sold at a $500K loss on August 31, 2011 for $822,500 which was discussed here with more detail.

Back on November 13, 2013, gossip juggernaut, TMZ, revealed that Khloe Kardashian, sister of Kim Kardashian, and her husband, ex-Los Angeles Laker, Lamar Odom were quietly selling their Tarzana home due to a possible divorce. Lo and behold a couple of months later and the always hilarious, Your Mama, at the Realestalker, revealed on January 8, 2013 that Kardashian/Odom officially listed their home on the MLS for $5,499,000 and were in the beginning stages of a divorce confirming the rumors first announced at TMZ. 

The home measures 7 Beds/8 Baths on 8,000 sqft on a total lot size of 0.75 acres built in 2003 in the exclusive guard-gated Mulholland Park. The listing description states:

For those who care, you can now buy the Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom mansion in Tarzana according to gossip juggernaut TMZ which was first revealed on November 7, 2013. The reason for the sale is that Khloe is preparing to divorce Lamar and wants to "start fresh and move on." This news probably doesnt come much as a big surprise to the majority of Americans as the couple got married after only 30 days of courting back in 2009 and more recently with Odom's drug troubles probably adding tension to a complicated and demanding marriage that is constantly in the public life. It seems that family reality shows tend to drive families apart at the end of the series. 

The home measures 7 Beds/8 Baths on 8,347 sqft on a total lot size of 0.75 acres built in 2003 and was purchased on December 18, 2009 for $3,950,000. Khloe is reportedly asking for $4 million . If sold at that price, the total profit would be $50K that will easily be absorbed with closing costs at $240,000 assuming a 6% rate. So there is going to be a considerable loss here not taking into account other expenses. But $240K is like pocket change for this famous couple.

Do you keep up with the Kardashians? I’m afraid I don’t. So when readers started asking to see photos of where Khloe and her husband Lamar Odom are living in Texas, I had to do a little research to find out.

Lamar was recently traded by the Lakers to the Mavericks, and the couple moved into a luxury condo in the W Dallas Victory Hotel & Residences. Take a look!

E! Online reports that they’re renting the 2-bedroom condo for $7,500-a-month:

“Resident amenities in the building include a concierge service, two fitness centers, an infinity pool, a lap pool, a 5,000-square-foot Bliss spa, an entertainment lounge and an outpost of Top Chef judge Tom Colicchio’s Craft restaurant.”

Okay, I love Tom Colicchio. I’ve watched every season of Top Chef since it began. I’d be hanging out in his restaurant all the time in hopes of running into him…

The new season of their reality TV show Khloe & Lamar recently premiered on E!–those of you who watch will have to tell us if they’ve shown the new condo yet.

In an interview Khloe talked about the move:

“Moving in general is stressful, so moving to a state that I’ve never been is stressful. Then when your husband’s having a very emotional transition, that’s like adding one more layer to this. Then I’m having the camera crew film and for them, they love it. They’re like, ‘This is gold!’ I’m like, ‘Can’t you just leave us alone for one week?’ But, you know, that’s what you know we signed up for.”

Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom Settle in Dallas High-Rise Condo (PHOTOS)

Lamar Odom and Khloe Kardashian have finally found a place to settle into in Dallas, Texas. The celebrity couple was rumored to have been shopping around for a new home ever since the Los Angeles Lakers shipped the NBA’s 2011 Sixth Man of the Year to the Dallas Mavericks less than a month ago, and the duo has apparently settled on a posh condo at the W Dallas Victory Hotel & Residences.

According to E! Online, Khloe and Lamar are paying $7,500-a-month to lease the two-bedroom, two-bath dwelling. Owned by Mack Hicks, the son of Texas Rangers owner and Dallas business magnate Tom Hicks, the interior of the condo was designed by Penny Sanders of Sanders Studio and features slate flooring, wet bar, kitchen with Miele appliances, bathrooms tiled in Mother of Pearl and a pool table that will come in handy when Rob Kardashian comes to visit. Building amenities for residents of W Dallas include a pair of fitness centers, Bliss spa, zero-edge infinity pool, private entertainment room and something called a ‘Whatever Whenever’ service.

Odom’s uncertain future with the Mavericks could be just one of the many reasons why the NBA forward and wife have opted to rent and not buy in Big D. Although Odom’s contract runs through 2012-13, his $8.2 salary for next season is only partially guaranteed, meaning that Dallas may opt to cut or buy out the versatile forward as the team gears up to make a run at Dwight Howard and Deron Williams, both of whom are slated to hit the free-agent market at season’s end.
